What is Life?
According to biology, it is life that distinguishes active organisms from matter that is inorganic. If something has life, then it will be self-sustaining compared to something that doesn't have life, it could be because it is dead or it is inanimate.
An individual living creature is called an organism. These organisms are made up of cells, use energy, maintain homeostasis, reproduce, adapt to changes in the environment, among others. All living organisms exhibit these features.

While some characteristics are species-specific, these are seven life characteristics that are common to all living beings:
