Render raised $20 million in its Series A round, led by Addition, General Catalyst, and South Park Commons.
The startup offers a Zero DevOPS public cloud alternative to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Users need zero knowledge of servers and infrastructure to install the platform. Instead, they use its intuitive hosting platform. These traits make it easy to set up and use while also offering the flexibility and power of competitors like AWS.
“AWS and other large providers were built for the 2000s”, co-founder and CEO Anurag Goel told TechCrunch. "The big three offerings need expensive and scarce DevOps engineering resources to manage. We offer simplicity and a world-class developer experience at a fraction of the cost.”
Render plans to use the funding to triple its staff by the end of 2022. Plus, it hopes to expand to ten new regions, as a minimum, with its sights on APAC and EMEA.
